Helinox kicks off the beach season: For summer 2019 the brand presents their new Playa Chair. The uniquely bent feet create a bigger contact surface and thus offer more stability on loose or sandy grounds. A wide seat, winged armrests and the attached bottle holder grant enhanced comfort and guarantee carefree times on the beach or any other place in the great outdoors. The included storage bag can quickly be transformed into a pillow.
Since 2010 Helinox is successfully developing and producing lightweight, foldable and comfortable chairs, tables, beds and trekking poles. For relaxed hours on the beach, they introduce the new Playa Chair for Summer 2019.
Measuring 70 x 79 x 93 cm, Playa Chair features bent feet, which create a larger contact surface. This ensures more stability on loose grounds like sand or gravel. Nonetheless it can be used on almost any terrain. The wider seat and the uniquely designed winged arm rests offer more comfort and guarantee relaxed moments, while enjoying mother nature. Juices, cocktails or beers can safely be stowed away in the attached bottle holder.
As on any Helinox product, the TH72M aluminum poles guarantee a solid but light build. They are connected via elastic bands on the inside. As known from high quality tent poles, they nearly find the positions themselves. The included storage bag can easily be transformed into a cushion by placing a rolled towel or sweatshirt inside it. It can be attached to the chair with the Velcro strap on the back.

Insulation and textile specialist PrimaLoft, is launching new materials made from 100 per cent recycled product at this year’s OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen – PrimaLoft Silver Insulation and PrimaLoft Black Insulation as well as PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Luxe.
Producing a high-performance insulation made entirely from recycled material has previously been problematic. The melting points of the collected PET bottles used to create the recycled fibres differ from that of virgin fibres, which makes manufacture of a stable insulation fibre that meets performance standards very difficult.
The firm has developed new recycling and production processes, resulting in high-performance fibres that are
finer and softer than cashmere and boast high bulk density and thermal performance. The insulation is low weight, highly compressible and water-repellent. Around nine commercially available PET bottles are necessary to create the insulation layer for one jacket (thickness 40g / m2).
Jochen Lagemann, managing director, PrimaLoft Europe and Asia, commented: “With the new 100%-PCR insulation, we offer our customers the perfect product that combines performance, comfort and sustainability. The response from our brand partners has been overwhelming so far. This innovation is also another important step towards achieving our own sustainability goals.”
By 2020, PrimaLoft plans to produce 90 per cent of its insulation products with at least 50 per cent recycled fibre. Most recently, the ingredient brand had provided its PrimaLoft Gold Insulation and PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Active + products, with 55 per cent recycled content
