Outwell gets Active with new easy awnings

Scandinavian camping brand Outwell, has launched its new Active Collection of low weight, low packed size, performance drive-away awnings.

Compact packed size and lightweight aluminium alloy poles are designed to enable easy storage on the move and extra space quickly attached that can be left free-standing as required.

The Collection comprises two drive-away awnings, a versatile tarp and a side panel set, all featuring Outtex 3000 Select polyester for weather protection, enhanced by the alloy poles, storm web tapes and the Outwell Wind Stabiliser System that provides a correctly secured awning stability in up to Force 10 storms. Each has a HookTrack System, guy line retainers and double beading (5mm and 7mm) to secure against the vehicle. Large mesh windows with waterproof curtains help circulate air to reduce condensation.

The Lakecrest provides ample living space with a detachable bathtub groundsheet in a surprisingly small footprint (pictured left). While entry is normally by the front door, wet weather access is via the doors located in the large Link Access Zone that connects the awning to the side of the vehicle, creating a useful area in which to leave wet, muddy gear before entering the campervan or awning living area.

The Woodcrest can be used at the side of a campervan, and the tall roof is designed to cater for an open tailgate or swing door if used to the rear of the vehicle. Like the Lakecrest, it features large side mesh windows with waterproof curtains to enhance ventilation and large roll-away front opening for panorama view. Roll-away front triangular side wall extensions provide access and protection options. The huge living area has a bathtub style groundsheet that can be removed when a wet area is required, such as when storing or working on outdoor gear.

The Hillcrest tarp quickly and easily attaches to a wind-out awning, or direct to the vehicle, using the supplied poles to provide shade, shelter and privacy. It offers the perfect shelter for lunch breaks or stopovers that do not warrant the use of a full awning. The angle from awning or vehicle can be adjusted and the tarp can be partially or completely rolled up when needed.

Attached using heavy duty Outwell zips, the Fallcrest Side Panel Set can be used with a wind out/roll out awning or tarp to provide extra shade, shelter and privacy. The angle from awning or vehicle can be adjusted and the sides partially or completely roll up to suit needs. Rear panel is shorter than front panel to allow for easy use of sliding door and both panels can be guyed out using king poles (not included) to create a sunscreen.
