Berghaus launches first IGOT event

Brand teams up with ViewRange navigation app

Berghaus has launched its latest initiative to encourage the public to head outdoors as part of the Its Great Out There campaign.

The brand teamed up with outdoor navigation app ViewRanger to launch The Trail Takeover which took place in three UK locations last month The free event was designed to encourage more people to try outdoor activities with prizes for participants, including gift cards and an outdoor activity holiday worth £2,000.

It followed last year’s successful Get Out Game and is Berghaus’ first official event as part of the pan-European #ItsGreatOutThere campaign, which the company helped to found. The takeover was held in three locations, in Central Scotland, Cotswolds and the Peak District.

Richard Leedham, Berghaus brand president, commented: “We’re really excited about the potential of The Trail Takeover. The bank holiday weekend is a perfect opportunity for people to spend time outdoors with their family and friends and we’ve come up with a really accessible way to do that.

“Partnering with ViewRanger is a great way to help the public use the latest technology to explore some beautiful locations, and our team will be out along the trails to make sure that everyone has a memorable time. As well as existing enthusiasts, we hope to introduce a lot of new faces to the outdoors on the day, who will be inspired to return again and again.”
