Maier Sports brews up new S.Cafe range

New material is made from recycled coffee grounds

Maier Sports has launched a new range of shirts made out of S.Cafe material which uses coffee grounds as a raw material.t

The processed recycled coffee grounds give the material a wearable comfort, which is especially appreciated in summer and during physical exertion. In an energy-saving process, the processed coffee grounds are applied to the surface of the fibre filaments at low temperature and under high pressure, as a result the yarn dries 200 per cent faster than materials such as cotton.

In addition, the micro-pores on the S.Café yarn, ensure that no unpleasant odours are produced permanently and moisture is transported to the outside very quickly.

For Spring 2019 Maier Sports is using S.Cafe Ice-Cafe in its feminine, functional shirt Irmi. The S.Café Ice-Cafe functional fibre cools and refreshes, while dryprotec ensures rapid drying. Flat seams increase the comfort while a floral print ensures that Irmi is equally at home in the city or at the restaurant.

Designed for those who prefer a stylish top to wear on warm and sunny days, the Ceri model with S.CaféT Ice-Cafe functional fibre also gives a cool skin feeling in a feminine cut with a refined neckline at the back resulting in a style which transitions easily from hiking and outdoor tours to in the city café.

Both tops are available in a variety of spring and summer colours, in sizes 8-26.
